Members of the National People’s Co-operative Bank of Jamaica Limited in Zones: One, Two, Three and Four are being invited to attend their upcoming Zonal Annual General Meetings in August 2026. These meetings are an important part of the Bank’s co-operative governance process, giving members the opportunity to review branch financial performance, elect representatives, and participate in discussions that help shape the Society’s Annual General Meeting.

The National People’s Co-operative Bank Zonal AGM 2026 meetings will be held in person and online via Zoom, allowing eligible members to take part in the format that best suits them. Each zone will meet on its scheduled date at 10:00 a.m.

Why the Zonal Annual General Meetings matter

The Zonal Annual General Meetings are convened so members can take part in the democratic process of the National People’s Co-operative Bank of Jamaica Limited. As a co-operative institution, member participation is central to how the organisation reviews performance, selects representatives, and brings forward matters for wider consideration.

At each meeting, members in the relevant zone will be asked to consider key items affecting their branches and the Society. These include the examination of income and expenditure statements, the election of delegates to the National Annual General Meeting, discussion of resolutions, and the election of zonal committee members.

The meetings also help prepare the way for the wider NPC Bank Jamaica Annual General Meeting process, including the PC Bank delegate election and the consideration of matters that may be moved at the Society’s Annual General Meeting.

Who should attend

Attendance is for members of the National People’s Co-operative Bank of Jamaica Limited who belong to Zones: One, Two, Three and Four.

Members are encouraged to attend the meeting for their assigned zone only. This helps ensure that each zone conducts its business properly and that the relevant branch matters, elections, and resolutions are handled by the members connected to that zone.

Eligible attendees include registered members and shareholders of the National People’s Co-operative Bank of Jamaica Limited within the named zones. Members who actively participate help strengthen the co-operative model and ensure representation at the national level.

If there is any uncertainty about zone membership or meeting eligibility, members may contact the Marketing Department for guidance at 876-961-0278.

What members will review and decide

Each Zonal AGM has a clear purpose. The meetings are not only informational. They also support member decision-making and representation within the co-operative structure.

The main agenda points include the following.

Members will examine income and expenditure statements

Members will review the statement of income and expenditure for the branches in their zone. This gives members a clearer view of how the branches have performed during the period under review.

This part of the meeting supports transparency. It allows members to hear the relevant information, ask appropriate questions within the meeting process, and better understand the financial position of the branches connected to their zone.

Because the meeting concerns financial statements and Society business, members should treat the information shared as formal co-operative business. This notice is provided for member information and should not be treated as financial advice.

Members will elect delegates to the National Annual General Meeting

A key function of the Zonal AGM is the election of new delegates who will attend the National Annual General Meeting. Delegates serve an important representative role, carrying the voice and decisions of the zone into the national forum.

The delegate election process helps ensure that the National Annual General Meeting reflects the participation of members from across the Society. Members present at the zonal level therefore help determine who will represent their zone in that broader setting.

Members will discuss resolutions for the Society’s Annual General Meeting

Members will also discuss any resolutions that may be moved at the Society’s Annual General Meeting. Resolutions are a formal way for members to raise matters for consideration, discussion, and decision within the co-operative structure.

This agenda item gives members an opportunity to contribute to the direction of the Society through the proper channels. It also allows ideas and proposals to be considered at the zonal level before they move to the national meeting.

Members will elect zonal committee members

The meetings will include the election of members as zonal committee members. These committees form part of the structure through which member interests and zonal matters are represented.

Electing zonal committee members helps support continuity, accountability, and active participation within each zone. Members who attend can take part in this process and help select persons to serve in these roles.

How to prepare before attending

Members can make the most of the meeting by preparing ahead of time. Since each Zonal AGM includes financial review, elections, and discussion of resolutions, arriving ready helps the meeting run smoothly.

Members attending in person should plan travel to the venue and arrive before 10:00 a.m. This allows time to settle in and follow any registration or attendance procedures that may apply at the location.

Members joining by Zoom should ensure they have a stable internet connection, a charged device, and the correct meeting ID and passcode for their zone. If possible, test the Zoom app or browser access before the meeting day.

A few simple preparations can help.

  • Confirm the correct zone meeting date.

  • Join or arrive a few minutes before the start time.

  • Review any relevant notices or documents received before the meeting.
