INVITATION OF NOMINATION BY PETITION

The duly appointed Nominating Committee of the National People’s Co-operative Bank of Jamaica Limited, hereby invites members of the Society to nominate suitable candidates to fill vacancies for the following:

1.      National Board of Directors

2.      Credit Committee

3.      Zonal Committee


To be recommended for election at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF NOMINATION

Nomination from members will be accepted by petition under the following terms and conditions:

a.       Nominations to fill the vacancies on the National Board of Directors, Credit Committee and Zonal Committees must be duly signed by at least 2 members and submitted to the Secretary of the National Nomination Committee for consideration.

b.      Candidates nominated and shortlisted will be interviewed by the National/Zonal Nominating Committee to determine suitability to fill the vacancies.

c.       Each nomination must be signed by the nominee and accompanied by his/her resume, and agreement that if selected, will serve in the position elected.

d.      A member seeking nomination to hold office will be disqualified if he/she:


  • Fails to satisfy the Nominating Committee that he/she is a fit and proper person to accept the responsibilities and perform governance function at the Society.

  • Has a dormant or inactive account.

    • Accounts are classified dormant after one year of inactivity.

    • Accounts are classified inactive after six months of inactivity.

  • Is not ordinarily a resident in Jamaica.

  • Is delinquent in their loan obligations to the Society during the twelve-month period prior to the deliberations of the Nominating Committee.

  • Is involved in or has any litigation pending before the courts against the Bank.

  • Is convicted of any financial crime.

  • An unofficial money lender

  • An employee of the Bank or of the Registrar of Cooperatives and Friendly Societies.

e.       The closing date for receiving nominations by petition both at the branches of the Society or delivered to the Secretary is:

July 2, 2026

July 7, 2026

N.B. Nominations will only be accepted on the prescribed nomination form.

Nomination by petition should be placed in a sealed envelope marked CONFIDENTIAL and addressed to the Secretary of the Nominating Committee, National Peoples Co-operative Bank of Jamaica Limited and delivered to any branch of the Society or to the Secretary.

In line with the rules, NO NOMINATION WILL BE TAKEN FROM THE FLOOR AT THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.
